Chairman Loudermilk Subpoenas T-Mobile for DC Pipe Bomb Suspect's Communications
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) subpoenaed T-Mobile for the communication records of Brian Cole Jr., who was a T-Mobile user and is alleged to have planted the pipe bombs near the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters on the evening of January 5, 2021.
Surveillance footage depicts the suspect using a cell phone while in the vicinity of the DNC on the evening of January 5, and within a few minutes of planting the first device. The FBI also noted the suspect was seen on Surveillance footage using a cell phone five times.
The Select Subcommittee on January 6th is conducting oversight of the law enforcement response to and subsequent investigation of the events that occurred at or near the Capitol in relation to January 6, and we believe T-Mobile possesses information critical to our oversight and legislative reforms.
