WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Select Subcommittee on January 6th Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) sent letters to Attorney General Pam Bondi, the University of Virginia and several private businesses in search of the more than one terabyte of digital data the former January 6th Select Committee failed to archive or deleted.
House Republicans voted on Wednesday to authorize a select subcommittee to investigate the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack and potentially the previous Democratic-run Jan. 6 committee.
After nearly eight months of wrangling over jurisdictional and turf issues, a new Jan. 6 select subcommittee will begin oversight and investigation work on Sept. 2, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) announced Wednesday.
Chairman Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) today introduced a resolution establishing the new select subcommittee for the 119th Congress to continue Congress’ investigation into the events surrounding January 6, 2021.
